New Shirt Notice: At My Leisure

Sitting Pretty - Limited Edition T-Shirt by 200nipples

At My Leisure - Limited edition tee by 200nipples

I’m not sure I know why I was so enamored with this graphic when it first came across the 200nipples desk, but I love it. There’s something comforting about furniture. It’s solid and tangible; heavy. (Not like, say, a website.) I’m inexperienced with woodworking and upholsterers tools, though. More of a keyboard guy. So now, I can sport this shirt with a little old world craftsmanship across the chest.

    This is a dumb shirt.

“If you like this shirt, let us know in the comments. If you hate it, tell us why. The more feedback we get, the better.”

    Because it’s barely a design. It’s a crude drawing of a chair.

    Awww. I rather liked it.

I’m glad y’all are back to more than a shirt a month. I’ve noticed you haven’t posted designer bios on the last couple…any chance you’ll start doing that again?

  4. Posted by Jack / On March 21, 2010 at 11:27 pm

I too miss the designer bios. :P

And sorry to say, I too don’t like this shirt as much as I have some of the rest. What I like in your shirts is when people ask about it there is usually a good reason behind them that either begs a question or makes someone think (ex: the growing today shirt), and in my opinion I can’t see my self saying “It’s uhhh…. chair, furniture is comfortable.” :) lol.

All jokes aside, I like the shirts that have good reasoning behind them, but that’s just my opinion.

Also it seemed like my last shirt was of different quality than one before. Are you using another shirt company other than AA?

the design did not meet my expectations. i expected more / a higher calibre of art.

    – has recently made a purchase but feels that the designs lack enthusiasm / a proper backstory.

    - too simplistic / lazy?

If your rhetoric was better, I might be better sold on such a product.

What’s up with the small 200 nipples logo hidden in the more recent designs? Anyone else notice this? They weren’t there in the earlier shirts? What’s up with this, Wade? (P.S. Not sure whether I like it or not, cool design though. Last couple have been pretty kick-ass!)

Hey guys, lots of good feedback, thanks for taking the time! Now to answer some questions…

“Why we don’t have designer bios anymore?”
It’s because we’re not really promoting individual designers. We’re commissioning and paying for exclusive designs to 200nipples. In the future, I’m sure we will have spotlighted (spotlit?) designers and they will definitely have bios if it’s not some commissioned piece that we’ve paid for and tweaked to our specs.

“What’s up with the small 200nipples logo hidden in the more recent designs?”
Good eye, Ian. That’s new. We started it on march 1st. I think it adds a little something. It will always be subtle and we’d even like it to be hard to find if possible, although we’ll usually point it out in the design detail. It’s just one more way to make our designs unique.

“This design was awful, I don’t like this design, etc..”
We’re going to sell a lot of different styles and designs over the long term, but since we only sell one design at a time and once a week, that means we won’t always have something up that you like. All I can promise you guys is variety.

“If your rhetoric was better, I might be better sold on such a product.”
    I’ll work on it! ;-)

“it seemed like my last shirt was of different quality than one before. Are you using another shirt company other than AA?”
Yep, we switched shirt vendors. We were getting back ordered a lot from AA (probably because we’re such a small account) and their customer service was terrible. All of that could’ve been suffered had the product been amazing, but we were getting some shirts with freaking holes in them and stuff. So… we’ve moved on from AA. I actually dig the new shirts more, but I’d be interested to see what you guys think. I wished you’d used a different adjective than “different” in your question up there, Jack. Better or worse? I like them better, what-say-you?

It’s not bad, I like it and it fits me better than the AA ones except for I think they shrink a lot in the wash, but that might just be me. :D

Why no V-necks? I can’t wear a crew neck, and I know others who feel the same. Time for a change, 200n!

I liked the color and the design, so I bought this shirt. It was an entirely different color from what’s pictured here. This looks greenish, the actual shirt was electric blue. I felt I ought to say something.

Thanks for the input Daniel. I build my mocks based on pictures on our shirt suppliers website. I’m sorry it was off this time, the actual shirt color was supposed to be teal. I’d imagine there’s some arguing room about just how blue or green teal should be, but I was eyeballing it from a photo.

We’ve just switched suppliers and are ironing out kinks like this. Is it ugly or just different? (Feel free to contact me via the contact form on the site if you’d like to chat about this more offline. Or you can just reply here.)

It’s just different. I like it fine, it is merely not what I expected, nor what I was hoping for. I am totally satisfied with it though, it is still a great shirt!
