    I don’t get it.

    BAKE jump : BASE jump
It’s nice, feels a bit like a Perry Bible Fellowship Illustration.
The yellow background doesn’t quite work tho’; I would’ve preferred blue or white or black or grey….

    Seems a little too abstract

While I don’t see the connection between baking and jumping (well, I can think of one possibility…), I’m a big fan of the cupcake mountain with the sweeping clouds and swirly frosting. I usually steer clear of pink (too girlie for this girl), but somehow the pink and yellow fit here. I give it a thumbs up for crafty funkiness that will leave everyone guessing, including me.

I dig it…..my interpretation would be a leap into healthiness lol I currently fight the cupcakes and I wish I could parachute away from them :) there just too good! The cupcake is symbolic of childhood. MMMM the cupcake. Jump away Jump away…..this shirt gets a thumbs up!!

I’m really scratching my head on this one. I don’t get the concept (even after explained in the comments, it’s a stretch to me), and don’t care for the colors or composition. Normally it’s just a “Ah well, what’s not for me is for somebody else…” and I can see the appeal, but when you run a site that only updates once a month? Seems like your shirts would be uber stunning and worth the wait every time. *shrug*

Er, I don’t mean to totally dump on Nick…I adored his last shirt.

People do (and see) stupid things while they are high.

That’s what it says to me. Though, I bet it has some horribly deep existential meaning that is far beyond my powers of comprehension to grasp. That’s just my luck.

On a scale of one to ten, this shirt rates about a six. The colors (though complementing each other nicely) are too gaudy and I just don’t like the idea of wearing a t-shirt with a cupcake on it – even if there is someone base-jumping off of it.

Nice for someone else, but not for me. Can’t wait to see the next shirt, though. ^^

what do you mean? the jumpers are all cupcake seeds!

  12. Posted by Matt / On April 12, 2009 at 9:12 pm

Yeah, it’s obviously a parody on BASE jumping, but it’s a stretch, and something that is only even POSSIBLE to get if you see the title of the shirt along with it. Which, if someone else is seeing you wear it, they won’t.
I agree with John, in that blue or gray would have looked better and been more obvious.
And I also agree with iola, the colors and composition just aren’t very good and that if your website is only going to print a T-shirt once a month, it should probably be something worth waiting a month for (and worth paying up to a hundred dollars for too, if that’s you’re shtick…).

My guess at the meaning is a play on BASE Jumping (Building, Antenna, Span, Earth… look it up)

although, I don’t know why… maybe when you’re stoned, and you got the munchies, it kinda makes, like, you know what I mean? I mean like, uh…

    whoa! did you see that?!

I’m not totally crazy about the yellow shirt, but the design is fun and coming it at #20 sold me. I love that the person jumping in the foreground could be a man or woman. This purchase should feed my auction bug for a while.

why not base jump off a giant cupcake? or for that matter, why not shrink yourself down and base jump off a normal size cupcake? oh yeah… that’s right- the technology doesn’t exist yet. i enjoy this design. it makes me think of crazy possibilities and where the mind can wander, if allowed to. i also enjoy the lines. the vertical squished ones of the cupcake base parallel the parachute strings and the horizontal wavy ones of the bulbous cupcake top and parachute top. very congruent.

Bake Jump – it was a curated piece of artwork. I personally dig that icing on the cupcake – makes me want to go and bake!
